Brownie + Peanut Butter Cup + Cookie = The End Of My Day

May 9, 2013

Hello M:R Nation -

We have a great people employed at Mission Repair. One person in particular goes by the name of Jackie. She is able to light up every room that she walks into. But she has a dark side. I don’t know how she discovered that my kryptonite was sweet food, but she has effectively ended my work day. This morning, she brought in a pan that consisted of my 3 favorite things. Brownies, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and cookies.

Warning: Approach With Extreme Caution!

When I walked by this pan, I had no chance of denying myself of its goodness. It had me at hello…As you can see, this post has nothing to do with a Macbook, iPad or Samsung Galaxy S III. Its just a simple reminder to never trust your co-workers ;-)

p.s. Email me at troy@missionrepair.com if you are interested in this recipe. I’ll try to pry it from her hands!

Cheers, Troy

13″ Macbook Repair? Yes, We Still Do That!

May 7, 2013

Hello M:R Nation -

The original Macbook is a timeless pieces of art. Its design and simplicity has paved the way for what you see today. It was well before it’s time and it show. When it first arrived in early 2006 and we started to offer services for it, I never envisioned receiving them on a daily basis for repair 7 years later. This truly shows you how timeless it really is. In a world of bigger, better and newer, the Macbook has stood the test of time and has continually provided enough power, speed and longevity to appease us technology crazed human being.

This is why we love Apple. The products they produce are so great, that people use them for years! I personally use a Blueberry iMac G3 for my Oregon Trail addiction and to keep track of my personal finances ;-) . While that was a joke, it is not far fetched. The iMac G3 that I have in my office is running OSX 10.2 and still offers a good amount of computing fun. The original Macbook is no different. I would be comfortable running the entire business on it.

So, with that being said. What services do we currently offer for the Macbook? The same services we offered 7 years ago! Take a look at what those are below:

Yep, that is a big ol’ long list of services indeed. We offer each of these services with the care and speed that you expect. So please, keep those Macbooks up and running! There is no need to give up on them just yet.

Cheers, Troy

Macbook Air Screen Repair = Huge Price Drop!

April 3, 2013

Hello MR Nation -

We have some great news to share with the world today! Our 11″ and 13″ Macbook Air screen repair services are coming down in price! For quite some time Mission Repair has been the go to facility to repair the 11″ and 13″ Macbook Airs. We were the very first to offer this service and while others were chasing down the information to just figure out how to repair these things, we were working on lowering the price.

After many price shifts, we are now getting to the price that we would feel comfortable paying ourselves if we were personally paying for these services. Have a look at where I’m heading with this.

Glossy 11″ MacBook Air LCD Screen Repair  Our New Price: $249  vs Average Competitor Price: $299

Matte 11″ MacBook Air LCD Screen Repair   Our New Price: $249  vs Average Competitor Price: $329

Glossy 13″ MacBook Air LCD Screen Repair Our New Price: $289  vs Average Competitor Price: $369

Matte 13″ MacBook Air LCD Screen Repair  Our New Price: $289  vs Average Competitor Price: $369

Not a great thing to wake up to….

Now, I’m no mathematician, but we seem like the obvious choice over our competitors. Not only are we offering you the best price you will find, but we also have our world famous GotRepair benefit attached to these services! You already know that you can crack the screen on your Macbook Air… You are already considering repairing this… With Mission Repair, if you repair it with us and you happen to crack it again, you will never pay full price… ever!!!

Something else to keep in the front of your mind is our free shipping. This awesome perk is not just for the iPhone or Samsung customers. We offer this for all of our repairs!

So I hope I have made a compelling case to use Mission Repair for your Macbook Air servicing needs. We only want the best for you and as self-absorbed as it sounds, we know Mission Repair is the best choice for you ;-) .

Cheers, Troy!

My book is complete! Almost.

March 11, 2013

Hi everyone, any published authors out there? Well there are none here – yet!

I don’t know if you remember, but I blogged several months ago (on July 18, 2012 to be exact!) about being asked to write a book for the Globe Pequot Press titled: How to Start a home-based Computer Repair Business.

My keyboard has been on fire for the last 8 months!

My keyboard has been on fire for the last 8 months!

Since July, I have been diligently working nights and weekends to get it done. In fact, after several “back and forth” edits and revisions with my editor, I received this email from her today:

———————————-
Ryan,

Awesome, thanks! Off to production it goes. I should have first pages for you in about three weeks!
———————————-

What does that mean for me? I have my nights and weekends back! For anyone that has ever written a book of any length (mine is about 70,000 words) I now have a huge understanding of the process and a deep respect for authors unlike ever before. This process is time consuming, tedious, and one must have an attention for detail. There are other parts of being an author that I didn’t really understand until I did it. In fact, I went back through the earlier parts of the manuscript and I had forgotten about some of the things that I wrote about early on. Yikes, where did the time go!

Well 8+ months later, a mild case of carpal tunnel and a new respect for writing, it’s complete. I was told that I’d see the first chapter in “print format” for approval in about 3 weeks before the printing press runs the thousands of copies for Amazon.com.

What’s in the book? Well, if you’re interested in owning your very own version of my company, Mission Repair, I tell you all the secrets and ways to get your business started and running to success. All you need to do is buy the book ;-)

Ok then, so a HUGE weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Check this project off the list!

Take care, Ryan

So it snowed in Kansas City yesterday. Just a bit….

February 22, 2013

Hello everyone, we’re back in the office and at full operations at Mission Repair – almost.

Yesterday was incredible though – in fact Kansas was declared in a “State of Emergency” and even the Kansas Government shut down yesterday due to the Winter Storm “Q” that blanketed us with snow. We actually opened up Mission Repair yesterday and worked until about noon- then we took a vote and the employees wanted to leave for home before the roads got any worse. It was a good decision on their part…

Here’s a shot of my backyard when I got home:

IMG_1856

There’s my two dogs in the background, and that’s about 15″ of snow covering my patio table. It’s the biggest dump of snow that I’ve ever seen since I moved to Kansas in 2001. It was a sight to see! I did use to live in Colorado, which gave me some experience with the snow. In fact, yesterday’s Kansas snow was a “normal” Colorado snow – “normal” in that you’d still go to work or school and Colorado didn’t “shut down”. It’s interesting to see the differences in people’s attitude from different states. Kansas City just isn’t prepared for this kind of weather to hit…

So the airports were all shut down, and we didn’t receive any shipments in from FedEx yesterday. In fact, it’s 10:34am we we still haven’t received any today…but we’ve been told that they will arrive.

Rest assured that we are fully staffed (actually only one employee didn’t make it in today!) and we will get these repairs pumped out as soon as possible.

Thanks for sticking in there with us. This was a strange storm that has seems to have moved on. We will keep you posted on our progress.

Thanks, Ryan
