So it snowed in Kansas City yesterday. Just a bit….

February 22, 2013

Hello everyone, we’re back in the office and at full operations at Mission Repair – almost.

Yesterday was incredible though – in fact Kansas was declared in a “State of Emergency” and even the Kansas Government shut down yesterday due to the Winter Storm “Q” that blanketed us with snow. We actually opened up Mission Repair yesterday and worked until about noon- then we took a vote and the employees wanted to leave for home before the roads got any worse. It was a good decision on their part…

Here’s a shot of my backyard when I got home:

There’s my two dogs in the background, and that’s about 15″ of snow covering my patio table. It’s the biggest dump of snow that I’ve ever seen since I moved to Kansas in 2001. It was a sight to see! I did use to live in Colorado, which gave me some experience with the snow. In fact, yesterday’s Kansas snow was a “normal” Colorado snow – “normal” in that you’d still go to work or school and Colorado didn’t “shut down”. It’s interesting to see the differences in people’s attitude from different states. Kansas City just isn’t prepared for this kind of weather to hit…

So the airports were all shut down, and we didn’t receive any shipments in from FedEx yesterday. In fact, it’s 10:34am we we still haven’t received any today…but we’ve been told that they will arrive.

Rest assured that we are fully staffed (actually only one employee didn’t make it in today!) and we will get these repairs pumped out as soon as possible.

Thanks for sticking in there with us. This was a strange storm that has seems to have moved on. We will keep you posted on our progress.

Thanks, Ryan

Hello folks, we’ve been busy adding a few changes to our site and you’ll also notice a new banner on the top left of our homepage. . .

We’re partnering with Paypal to help market their amazing option called “Bill Me Later” – which means that you can have your device repaired NOW and not have to shell out the cash immediately to do so! There’s nothing like 6 months of interest free payments and this offer is available for orders over $99.

Additionally, for first-time users of this program Paypal is also taking $5 off of your order total. So let’s recap:

1. You use Mission Repair’s Services at already amazing prices – visit our website directly here.
2. Upon checkout, you choose “Paypal” and either sign up as a new paypal customer, or log into your Paypal account.
3. Choose the “Bill Me Later” option. Approval only takes a few seconds.
4. We ship your repaired device back to you, and you pay off your total invoice over the next 6 months, interest free!

It’s that easy and since we are moving into the Holiday season – who doesn’t need to save a few extra dollars this time of year – our new Paypal financing offer makes this a reality! Need more info? Just give us a call at 866-638-8402.

Did you know that we repair logic boards?

December 29, 2011

Hi again everyone, I just got off the phone with a customer that asked “do you repair iPod logic boards?”

My answer is “YES”!! We are a repair company and we can repair logic boards. The logic board is the main board (also called mother board or the brain of each unit) and sometimes these boards can fail over time. They can even fail when a unit is dropped or if it comes in contact with water. We can surface mount solder or through-hole solder. Heck, a lot of the batteries in these “iDevices” are soldered on so your repair company needs to know how to do this! We have the diagnosing capabilities to resolve tons of unknown or nearly undetectable issues.

Why is this important?

Well there are other businesses out there that DON’T offer logic board repairs. This is a key ingredient to having a successful repair business because we can do it all. Don’t settle for less.

Not only can we repair iPod logic boards, we can repair iPhone, iPad, and any laptop computer logic board (this includes Windows based computer and Mac Laptops). If we can’t repair it, there’s NO CHARGE – because frankly there are times that the repair can be too entailed or the circuitry can be too fried or beyond repair, but we are up for the challenge.

So rest assured when you send your device to us, you have the full gamut of options and we’re on your side.

Thanks, Ryan

Sorry it’s been so long, I promise I have a good excuse!

October 14, 2011

Hello all, it’s been a few days since my last blog, and I just got an email from a customer asking “where have you been?” I know I’m letting you down, but allow me to explain:

Let me start with a personal note – we got a new puppy. Not just any puppy though, this little girl was dumped by her owner, then caught in a trap for 3 days, all the while other dogs nipping and biting at her. We found her at a shelter, MOGS and this was something that I just had to do. She needed a good home and I’m not new to dogs, but I am new to German Shepherds. Additionally she’s a puppy at only about 12 weeks, so I’m a little sleepy from the late night dog walks and bathroom training. So firstly I’m a little tired and excited and happy about this new family member all at the same time!

Next, we’re opening up a new retail store here in Kansas City, Missouri. That’s right, our very first “real” retail store will be unveiled next week. We are just waiting for our signage to be installed and it’s going to look something like this mockup:

This has really been a time consumer to be honest. We’ve moved our entire computer division over to the new location (not to worry, we can still take laptop and computer repairs at our main, Olathe Repair Center) and things are starting to get into order.

We’re doing our best to keep the “move” seamless with our operations and it’s been a challenge. Nevertheless I’ve been through worse – many warehouse resets – many new division offerings – and many new endeavors that I wasn’t nearly as confident – and came through with ease.

So a little more work and a few more days and we’ll open the flood gates over at our 133rd and State Line location in Kansas City, Missouri. We’ve got 4 new employees staffed along with transplants from our Olathe location and we’re excited to bring the service you love to a location nearer to you.

What happens after this? Once we establish this location we’ve got the cogs spinning to open in other major metropolitan areas. Is Mission Repair coming to your city next? Just hang tight and see!

I’ll be back soon, Ryan
