Mission Repair Affiliate Program is LIVE!

November 19, 2008

Hello all, and thanks to everyone that already signed up! Our Affiliate Program is live and calculating payouts as we speak. We already have several key Affiliates that have whole-heartedly implemented the program on their websites, and on a daily basis we see their accounts building up.

We’ll “cash” you out (via Company Check) on a monthly basis. Our Affiliate program doesn’t require huge banners (it can be as simple as a text link) or any work from your part after it’s set up. All you need to do it “let” people click on our link from your website and our system takes care of the rest. It’ll track the customer all the way through a sale, even if they leave and come back to our site directly! You can rest assured that if you sent a customer our way and the customer placed an order, you’d get 5% of the total! You’ll be making money while you sleep.

Sign up now. Mission Repair’s Affiliate Referral Program. Our Affiliate manager is standing by!

Take care, Ryan

Mission Repair teams up with local companies to Build Houses?

November 19, 2008

That’s right, your friendly Apple repair team isn’t just all about fixing computers, phones and iPods! Some of the Mission Repair crew put down their little screwdrivers this fall to pick up, well, bigger screwdrivers (and hammers) to help the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Dave does quality MacBook repairs too!

What we hope will be an annual event, some of us took the day off to help in the building of affordable housing in North Kansas City. It was a beautiful day for the event and the turnout was great. Over twenty people, volunteers from several local companies and independent individuals joined together to lay gravel, frame walls, route cables and pound nails on this soon-to-be-home. It was tough work but everyone left with a renewed sense of pride!

If you ever get the chance, we highly recommend giving a hand to your local chapter of Habitat for Humanity! It feels great to help make homes for people to create memories in! Plus you can always take your iPod along for a little motivational music!

Cappuccino anyone?

November 18, 2008

Hi there, we’re excited about our new cappuccino maker here at the office. So excited that I just had to take a quick picture of it. We had the guys from Flavia come out and install their top ‘o the line coffee distillery.

Ann - our resident Barista!

Ann - our resident Barista!

The cool thing about this unit is that it makes one cup at a time by drawing filtered water from a hard line, then brewing the concoction of your choice. Not interested in regular coffee? That’s OK, how about a Milky Way Chococcino, or an Iced Latte, or my fav, Vanilla Cappucino. Yes, it does make REGULAR OLD COFFEE as well, but where’s the fun in that?

There’s a line at the machine in the morning, but trust me that to get through a day of 3G iPhone Repairs, this machine is a life saver!

OK, gotta go get another cup. By the way, with all of this coffee, I can now type 375 WPM. HA! Sleep is for the weak!

See ya, Ryan

First snow fall in Kansas City!

November 17, 2008

Hello all-

Well, I called it earlier in the month. We had snowfall this weekend! 2 of my kids, (Jordyn and Casey) and I were leaving Gambino’s Pizza Saturday (we shared a large double pepperoni pie) and we walked out to a nice little snow flurry. Well, it didn’t amount to much but it was snow nevertheless.

This sparked a great idea for me. Since it was the first snow of the year, I told them that we needed to go on a hike and I thought of the Overland Park Arboretum. This place has miles of trails and beautiful scenery. I suggested that we “take a hike” and their jaws dropped!

Jordyn (17) basically told me to “take a hike”. Casey (11) just gave me that look and said “DAD!”.

I wasn’t having anything of it. I took them both home (they were pleading with me the entire time) and I made them dress in some warm clothes. I was bound and determined to have them do this with me!

We made it to the Arboretum and it was awesome. We ended up hiking about 4 miles through the woods and over streams and through their waterfall garden. We had meaningful discussions about nature and cars and wrestling. It took us about an hour and after we were done they thanked me for taking them. I knew that it would work out! We got home, started up a blazing fire and had some hot chocolate. . .I thought that it was a successful day, and I got some exercise as well.

So it’s official, we now have a new Arter tradition. Every year we’re taking a hike in the woods on the first sign of snow for the year. It’s good to get your kids out of their element which allows them to grow as people, well that’s my goal anyway!

After that, I basically laid around and watched football all day on Sunday, what a great weekend! Ok, talk to you later, we’re having a huge Monday here at Mission Repair. For those of you that ordered shipping kits for your MacBook LCD Repair or iPhone Screen 3G Repair, they will be arriving at your locations shortly!

Take care, Ryan

The truth about the Original 2G iPhone Glass and Digitizer Replacement!

November 14, 2008

Hello everyone, this post is in response to the THOUSANDS of you that have read my earlier post about iPhone 3G Glass and Digitizer Replacements. I just need to clarify some of the questions that we receive constantly about this particular repair.

The dreaded Original iPhone 2G “cracked glass” issue!

We are flowing a massive amount of 3G Glass Replacements through our business these days but we still get questions about the Original 2G iPhone Parts and I want to clear up a few inquiries right here:

1. The 3G Glass and Digitizer WILL NOT WORK in your Original 2G iPhone. As they look similar from the outside, they are 100% different products and not interchangeable.

2. The Original 2G iPhone Glass Repair is more expensive than the 3G iPhone Glass Repair. The reason is that the 2G version of the glass was an assembly of the glass, digitizer, and LCD screen. The 3G version has a separate LCD screen, and therefore it’s a less expensive assembly.

3. You cannot just replace the glass on the 2G iPhone (or the 3G for that matter). To fix a cracked glass on a 2G iPhone we must replace the glass, digitizer and the LCD as I stated above. These parts are (for a lack of better term) “fused” together from the factory. There is just no way to safely separate and reuse any of these parts.

4. You cannot use “plexiglass” and perform your own “cheap” repair. This is ridiculous. I have seen posts advising this and I challenge anyone to prove that they can get the touch digitizer and LCD off of their broken glass front and get it to work with a home made plexiglass front. Can’t be done.

5. We don’t sell “Do-it-yourself” 2G iPhone Glass/Digitizer/LCD assemblies because the repair is TOO DIFFICULT to perform without ruining the back on your unit during disassembly. If you don’t care about your back being bent up then you can try it, but trust me you should leave this repair to the experts. The 3G version is much easier but it’s still only for the very “technically inclined” end user.

This will help with some of the common questions, for sure. We know that there are many theories out there but you can take solid advice from us here at Mission Repair. We’ve repaired THOUSANDS of units and it makes perfect sense to listen to the voice of experience. Still have questions? Give us a call at 866-638-8402 and we’ll get you on the phone with a technician right away!

Thanks everyone, have a great weekend. Ryan
