Snakes on a Plane?

September 16, 2008

Hello all, well this is a new one!!  We received a MacBook in from one of our customers in Michigan for our famous $229 MacBook LCD Replacement Service.  It was an overnight delivery and when we opened the box. . .yes you got it from the title. . .a LIVE SNAKE came out of the box!!  He was a passenger on the overnight air trip from Michigan, and somehow the little guy made the trip.  It must say a lot of the protection of our box that we provide (it’s got a lot of foam padding).  Ha!

Here’s a picture of our little friend (I took it with my new 3G iPhone):

I felt bad for him and he was obviously scared and disoriented.  We managed to “corral” him into an empty LCD box and soon after we took him to the acreage behind our building here in Kansas to set him free.  I hope the little guy is OK!

Can you tell me what kind of snake this is from my picture?  We’re no crocodile hunters here and no one got bit, but we also didn’t know what we were dealing with.  I’m just glad he made the trip.  Not to mention that I’m glad my receiving department didn’t have a heart attack when he found him!

It’s one for the books, and we thought that we’d seen it all. . .see ya, Ryan

Mission Repair is taking walk-in customers…no appointment necessary!

September 10, 2008

Hey all, yup, we love walk-in customers.  Our facility here in Olathe is equipped to handle walk-in business and our techs a “keyed in” to make walk-in business a priority!  We know that gas prices are high and we don’t want you to make multiple trips out to our shop if we can help it.  That’s why we’re performing many repairs while you wait (or while you go out and get a bite to eat).  There are times that it may take 24 hours to get to a unit (as we offer service on a first come first serviced basis) but we’ll be up front with you and give you a realistic time frame when we see you.

Stop on by and say "HI"!

Stop on by and say "HI"!

If you’d like to call in and set a time to meet, that’s no problem.  If you need us after hours, just call in and we’ll make sure that we’re here for you!  Thanks to all of our current customers and we’re looking forward to working with all of our potential customers in the future.  Please let us know how we’re doing!

As always, we are currently taking repairs in from all over the country.  If you’re not local to Kansas City, that’s no problem, we still give our “mail-in” customers the same attention as our walk-in customers!

Best, Ryan

Ever been to Jersey Mike’s?

September 3, 2008

Hello all, I just had a great eating experience at Jersey Mike’s Sub Restaurant.  It was my first trip there and frankly I was a bit skeptical. . .I’ve eaten at Subway, Togo’s, Jimmy John’s, Quizno’s and other “Sub” sandwich shops, but I was immediately impressed by the place.

We were greeted by the Manager, Mike Spiegel.  He is from Jersey.  Yes, I was in Jersey Mike’s, talking with Jersey Mike.  He let us sample some fresh cut cappacuolo and proscuittini while we were deciding.  I have to be honest, when a business goes a step further and talks to me, rather than just stands there and takes my order, I feel a bit special and it makes me interested.

So after a long look at the menu, Mike talked me into a hot Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich.  A large hunk of steak was immediately slapped on the grill behind him, then he got the onions and peppers going.  After a few minutes of churning the sizzling components together, he added the cheese, diced it up a little more, then moved the meat mixture to a fresh soft roll.

I was ready.  Maybe it’s because it’s only 65 degrees out today, or just that the smell of the place was whetting my appetite, but I went into this with open arms.

Mike tossed in a couple of fresh cookies “because we were rookies” (get it: cookie, rookie) and I got down to business.  That was by far the best Philly Sandwich I’ve ever had.  Mike checked up on us and I almost ordered a second sandwich but then I remembered that there’s always tomorrow.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ve never been to an east coast boardwalk and sampled the sandwiches there, and I concede that.  However I know good food and this is now at the top of my list.

If you have a Jersey Mike’s in your area, don’t drive by thinking that it’s just another sandwich shop.  Stop in, grab a Philly Cheesesteak, and tell them that Ryan sent ya  ;-)   www.jerseymikes.com

OK, I just got back and now I’m making myself feel hungry again.  Let me move onto a special that might entice you.  We’re offering $5 off any iPod battery installation.  Now until October 31st, 2008.  Just use coupon code “PHILLY” online and it’s adjust your total before checkout!

Have a great week, Ryan
